Mini LED TV

Mini LED technology is making waves in the world of television displays. This advanced display technology utilises thousands of tiny LED lights to create brighter, more precise, and more energy-efficient images than traditional LED displays.

As SKYWORTH enters a new era of sheer brilliance with their SUE9600 Mini LED, available in 65” and 75”, Senior Sales Manager Johan Goosen shares some more details about this ground-breaking technology. “What often gets people confused is the name. ‘Is it mini?’ Well, not quite. Let’s delve deeper…”

What is Mini LED technology?

It is an advanced form of LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology that uses thousands of tiny LEDs to create the backlight. This allows for greater precision in controlling brightness and contrast, resulting in improved picture quality. In traditional LED displays, a small number of large LED lights are used to create the backlight.

How does Mini LED technology work?

The Mini LED backlight is divided into zones, with each zone consisting of a group of LEDs. Each zone can be controlled independently, again allowing for precise control of the backlight and improved contrast. This results in deeper blacks and brighter whites, as well as improved colour accuracy.

Mini LED technology offers several benefits over traditional LED displays, specifically SKYWORTH’s SUE9600 model, these include:

  • Leading Mini LED backlighting technology brings you an incredible entertainment experience with higher brightness, perfect contrast, and rich colours.
  • Filmmaker Mode provides a cinematic experience in the comfort of your own home. Plus, Immersive Cinematic Sound with Dolby Atmos sound provides you with a surround sound experience.
  • Personalise your TV. Google has refined the Android TV experience with a greater emphasis on personalised content and tailored recommendations built around your viewing habits and interests.
  • Kids Care offers a world of TV just for kids. You can set up separate profiles for kids with age-appropriate content recommendations, a kid-friendly home menu and filters for apps, movies and shows through content filters and parental controls.
  • Google Duo. You can now make high quality calls from your TV – ideal for virtual meetings or catch ups with family and friends.
  • Chromecast built in. Enjoy games, movies and screen sharing at the touch of a button, compatible with both Android and iOS systems.
  • With Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) you can enjoy playing games without latency and control your own gaming world.
  • Deeper blacks. Mini LED displays can produce much deeper blacks than traditional LED displays, resulting in a more realistic and immersive viewing experience.
  • Brighter whites. Mini LED displays can produce much brighter whites than traditional LED displays, resulting in a more vibrant and dynamic picture.
  • Improved colour accuracy. The precise control of the backlight in Mini LED displays allows for improved color accuracy, resulting in more natural and lifelike colors.
  • ‘Hey Google’ with Hands Free Voice Command.
  • Energy efficient. Mini LED displays are more energy-efficient than traditional LED displays, as they require less power to create brighter images – ideal when it comes to load shedding.

“As the technology continues to improve and become more affordable, we can expect to see Mini LED displays become more widely used in the future,” concludes Goosen.
