Power banks come in different sizes and shapes. They all pretty much do the same thing but some do it better. Charged Power sent over the MAGNUM OPUS, which sounds like it is ready to dominate the power bank market. Let’s see if this is the case.

The Design:

The Magnum Opus is a really compact power bank that is made from hard plastic. It has curved edges and two indentations which you can place your fingers for a comfy grip. The front of the power bank has an LCD display which shows the power banks battery level. Instead of this being displayed as a few bars, the level is displayed as a number. Which I like as I have many times stared at my power banks trying to count the bars.

Next to the LCD display is a silver button which you can press to turn on the display or if you press the button twice, the flashlight turns on.

On the top part of the power bank, you get two USB ports, a micro USB port and the flashlight. The ports are clearly marked in and out, in case you aren’t sure which side of the cable to plug in.

Performance:

Alright, the power bank looks great but how does it actually perform? How does it handle charging phones? For starters, the capacity of the Magnum Opus is 10000 mAh. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging at 2.4 Amps. It also has protection against short-circuit and high temperatures.

So I charged my Samsung Galaxy S10+ which has a 4100 mAh battery with the Magnum Opus and it used 50% of the battery and took about 2 hours to charge my S10+ to 100%, the same time as my Samsung Fast Charger. So in theory, I would be able to charge my phone twice before I need to recharge the power bank. This is normal for a 10000 mAh power bank.

How long does it take to charge the power bank? To charge from 0 to 100%, it took roughly 5 hours. I used my Samsung Fast charger to do this. I did find this was a bit long.

The light on the power bank is perfect when you need a light to find something that you may have dropped.

What is in the box:

  • Magnum Opus Power Bank
  • Travel Bag – Handy for keeping the power bank and cable safe and secure!
  • Micro USB cable
  • User Manual

The Verdict:

While I usually carry a much larger power bank (15K mAh), I have actually enjoyed carrying the Magnum Opus with me as it is much smaller and lighter on the pocket. I was also impressed with the speed at which it charges my phone as power banks are usually slow.. Overall I am really happy with the Magnum Opus 10000mah Power Bank!
