I agree with remote work for myself and here is why:
I have everything I need at home. A custom desk. Two monitors. Gaming keyboard and mouse. Gaming pc which is fast and powerful. Gaming chair that keeps my back from getting sore. Uncapped Fibre @ over 500 mbps.
I work fast. I get the job done. I can work during boring work meetings. And I have my own kitchen and toilet. Also I don’t need to wear a mask and can take a quick nap when my body tells me too.
In contrast when I go into an office, I use a laptop that is on the network so it is very slow. It takes me much longer to do anything. I sit on a chair that is old, dirty and broken. I have to travel to the office which costs me time and money. I spend time in meetings where I can’t work.
Not everyone is able to work from home. For many, it may be more suitable to work from an office. And that’s OK. But give employees a choice of where they are comfortable to work.
