Let me start by asking you a question. Are all charging adapters and USB cables the same? Have you ever noticed that you can charge your phone super-fast using one charging adapter, but then on another kind, your phone takes forever to charge? Or have you noticed that a certain type of USB cable can transfer Data but not charge your phone? This is because, in fact, not all charging adapters and USB cables are the same. And by choosing the right charger, you can ensure that you get the best charging experience from your smartphone/tablet/device.

VOLTME focuses on the mobile charging trends influencing future charging mobility. Through their range of charging products, they aim to offer products which give you the best charging experience. VOLTME focuses on the tech behind its products, the design and the innovation. To show this, VOLTME sent over two of their products for me to experience. In this article, I will be taking a look at the VOLTME Revo 140 PD 3.1 GaN Tech Charger and the VOLTME USB Type-C Charger Cable with 100W E-Marker.

Before we get into the products themselves, it is important to briefly go through the different types of charging speeds which are in use. Depending on the type of device you are using, you will be able to charge your device at different speeds.

Thanks to ChatGPT for the following:

  1. Standard Charging (5W): This is the most basic and slowest charging speed, delivering around 5 watts of power. It’s commonly found on older smartphones or budget devices.
  2. Fast Charging (Quick Charge, Adaptive Fast Charging, etc.): Fast charging technologies vary between manufacturers, but they generally offer higher power output than standard charging. Speeds typically range from 10W to 18W, enabling quicker charging times compared to standard charging.
  3. USB Power Delivery (USB-PD): USB-PD is a universal charging standard that allows for higher power delivery. Depending on the device and charger capabilities, USB-PD can offer charging speeds from 18W to 100W or more. Many modern smartphones support USB-PD, allowing for faster charging with compatible chargers.
  4. Qualcomm Quick Charge: Quick Charge is a proprietary fast charging technology developed by Qualcomm. It provides higher power delivery, ranging from 18W to over 100W (depending on the version), but it requires both the phone and charger to support Quick Charge for optimal results.
  5. SuperVOOC, Warp Charge, Dash Charge: These are proprietary fast charging technologies used by certain manufacturers like OPPO, OnePlus, and others. They can deliver power outputs ranging from 30W to 125W, providing extremely fast charging speeds for supported devices and chargers.
  6. Wireless Charging: Wireless charging allows you to charge your phone without plugging in a cable. Wireless charging speeds typically range from 5W to 15W, with some high-end devices supporting even faster wireless charging technologies.
  7. Reverse Charging: Some smartphones can act as power banks and charge other devices wirelessly or via a cable. The reverse charging speeds are generally slower than regular charging, often in the range of 2.5W to 10W.
  8. Samsung Super Fast Charging: Samsung has also been pushing the boundaries with its fast charging solutions, offering up to 45W charging speeds on some of its premium devices.

Right, back to this review. When I charge my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, I use Super Fast charging, which is the fastest way I can charge my phone. But this is only possible if I have the right charger, that offers at least 45W of charging. I also have a Samsung Powerbank that supports SuperFast Charging, and this also needs a charger that supports 45W. What happens if I want to charge my phone and my power bank at SuperFast charging, at the same time? What about charging my Sony Linkbuds S earbuds as well? This is where the VOLTME Revo 140 PD 3.1 GaN Tech Charger and the VOLTME USB C Charger Cable with 100W E-Marker comes into play.

VOLTME Revo 140 PD 3.1 GaN Tech Charger:

The VOLTME Revo 140 is a charging adapter, which comes in either white or black, in a slim design and is well suited for narrow outlet spaces. We all struggle with trying to plug a larger charger into a multiplug and often have to unplug other plugs, just to charge our phones. Thanks to its slim design, this won’t be an issue!

The VOLTME Revo 140 Charger has three ports with a max output of 140W across all ports and supports the latest 3rd Generation GaN Power IC,  as well as PD 3.1 technology, QC 5.0 & PPS charging protocols.

Let’s take a look at the different charging ports on the charging adapter. First up is a USB Type-C port with PD 3.1 tech with a max output of 140w. Then there is another USB Type-C port with PD 3.0 with a max output of 100W and then a USB A port with a max output of 22.5W. The charger uses a V-Dynamic HelixDuo Power Distribution technology to ensure that the right Wattage is delivered to the USB ports when you are charging.

The 3 charging ports allow you to charge three devices simultaneously, and if all three ports are charging your devices, you will then get a max output of 65W + 45W + 22.5W across the ports. But if you only plug in the two USB Type-C ports, you can then get 65W + 65W. Let’s say you are changing a laptop using the USB C1 port, then you can get a max power output of 140W! So you can choose what you need to charge at the same time to ensure that you get the quickest charge when you need it.

The following image provided by VOLTME demonstrates this:

The VOLTME Revo 140 is also a GaN charger! A GaN charger is built with gallium nitride rather than the more popular silicon that you find in conventional chargers. This means the VOLTME Revo 14 is up to 3X more efficient than other chargers with 3X faster charging. It also offers 40% in energy savings.

To keep you safe when charging your devices, you get dynamic power protection, short-circuit protection, over-voltage protection, over-charge protection, over-temperature protection, overheating protection and over-current protection with CE, RoHS, and FCC safety certifications.

The VOLTME Revo 140 is well-suited for charging your laptop, tablet, phone, gaming devices, smart watches, wearables and more! For a list of compatible devices, please see the table on the product listing.

The VOLTME Revo 140 is for sale via the VOLTME website and on Amazon, for $95.99. It comes with an 18-month warranty.

With the VOLTME Revo 140, you can charge multiple devices, in one compact powerful charger. It is no wonder that the Revo 140 won the 2023 CES Innovation Awards honoree in the Laptop Accessories category! The Revo 140 comes in different versions to suit the plug type in your country.

VOLTME USB C Charger Cable with 100W E-Marker

There is no use having a charger that can charge your devices at the most optimum speed, and then using the wrong cable that will burn as soon as the voltage runs through it. From VOLTME, we also have the VOLTME USB C Charger Cable with 100W E-Marker.

The VOLTME USB C Charger Cable with 100W E-Marker offers a maximum of 100W charging power, and output power up to 5A, delivered in high-speed and safe charging. There is an E-marker certified control chip integrated into the cable. The chip intelligently regulates the required voltage and current, ensuring optimal efficiency while safeguarding your device from battery damage caused by current overload. This chip also significantly reduces heat generation during charging.

Picking up the cable, you will feel that it is soft to the touch. This is thanks to its liquid silicone and graphene coating. This finish gives the cable a silky soft feel while maintaining the toughness of the cable. The cable is rated at an impressive 25K bend lifespan, and the USB Type-C connecter has laser welding protection to ensure that it doesn’t break off in your device. The head of the cable features an easy grip groove, to ensure that plugging in or out is effortless. You also get a tangle-free experience thanks to the texture of the cable. To limit tangles, you can use the velcro strap to nearly store the cable.

With the VOLTME USB C Charger Cable, you get high efficiency, Super Fast Charging and Super safety while charging your devices.

The VOLTME USB C Charger Cable with 100W E-Marker comes in either 1m or 2m options and sells on Amazon for $16.99 and $19.99 respectively. It comes with an 18-month warranty.

From my tests, I am able to charge my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 at SuperFast charging speeds, as well as charge the 25W Samsung 20000mAh Power Bank at its fastest speed as well, at the same time. And I can use the third USB Port to charge my Sony Linkbuds S earbuds! This is very useful when all need to be charged at the same time!

Having the right charging adapter and cable for your devices, ensures that you can charge your battery efficiently, safely and at the fastest speed. The products reviewed here from VOLTME, offer a great alternative to the standard adapters and cables that come with phones!

The products featured in this review were provided on a trade exchange basis.
