“Well done to the VW Athletics Club for a well organised event. My wife and I enjoyed the 10km race and the support and atmosphere was inspiring! It is this same support that allowed VWSA to be the number 1 plant in the Volkswagen Group,” said Thomas Schaefer, Volkswagen Group South Africa Chairman and Managing Director.
“A healthy and fit lifestyle is very important to me and it is just as important for the rest of our VW Family. That is why I am so proud to have seen so many employees and their loved ones taking part. Our PeoplePavilion is the perfect start and finish for this race and it ensures that VWSA’s investment of R30 million into this facility continues to pay off.” concluded Schaefer.
The race was combined with the popular VW Market Day which provided fun and entertainment for the whole family, setting a record for visitors, a total of 3054 were at the Market Day, a fitting end to a great race.
