The twelve Miss SA finalists are getting a tech boost with the Samsung Galaxy S9

For an astonishing 60 years, the Miss South Africa title has been hotly contested by this country’s most beautiful and accomplished women. Winners have gone on to make a positive and sustainable impact on South Africa and the world. The Miss South Africa pageant seeks women who are compassionate, inspirational, confident, who fearlessly use their voice to champion charitable causes and are hard-working, charismatic with the world at their feet.

The pageant is always a glamorous affair and this year, the diamond jubilee, will be unmissable. Today, in the run-up to the final, twelve of the competitors were announced as finalists, giving them the opportunity of a lifetime – to win the coveted title of Miss South Africa 2018.

In order to enable them to share the reality of their journeys with their adoring fans, Samsung handed each finalist a superlative Samsung Galaxy S9 smartphone. Not only will the Samsung Galaxy S9 ensure the competitors can keep in touch at all times, they’ll have the very latest in smartphone camera technology at their fingertips, so not a single moment will be missed. With our category defining Dual aperture lens, the Miss South Africa finalists will be able to capture stunning pictures in bright daylight while doing a fashion shoot on the beach, or in super low-light conditions during a night out on the town.

Justin Hume, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung South Africa, says, “We’re excited to be part of this prestigious event. The Miss South Africa pageant celebrates women who lead the way and as a world leader in technology, Samsung’s involvement ensures that contestants get the very best support for their passageway towards the ultimate title.”

One of the twelve will be crowned the new Miss SA on Sunday 27th May at the pageant’s final, to be held at Sun International’s new flagship venue, Times Square Sun Arena in Pretoria. The final will be hosted by leading media personality Bonang Matheba. It is tipped to be unmissable.

“In keeping with the exquisite style and elegance of the event, the twelve finalists each received a Galaxy S9 in the Pantone Colour of the Year – Ultra Violet – which not only enhances their personal sense of fashion, but more importantly, it’s the perfect tool to share their stories and keep in touch with their fans,” concludes Hume.

Says the Miss South Africa Organisation, “We as Cell C and Sun International on behalf of the Miss South Africa Organisation are proud to bring the long term association we have with Samsung to the property. The inclusion of a technology partner is an exciting venture as it allows us to tell the Miss South Africa story through the finalists’ eyes to the public, especially in the diamond jubilee year of the pageant.”
