When you are traveling and are looking for a hotel that is away from all the hustle and bustle of the city, you search for a hotel that is not where most people are. When I was in Johannesburg for work recently I stayed at the Premier Hotel in Midrand. I have stayed at the Premier Hotel in Sea Point before which I really enjoyed. Did I enjoy my stay? Let’s find out:
Walking into the hotel I was greeted by the staff and led to the reception where I was quickly booked into my room.
The hotel has 113 rooms of different sizes. You get the Suite, the Executive and the Standard room. I stayed in the executive room which is perfect for business people on the go. The room was clean, the bedding was clean and fresh and most important, comfortable. All necessary room amenities were provided for. The room came with a full bed, couch, TV, fridge, aircon, work area and my favourite, super fast internet! There were even biscuits for me.
Amenities in the hotel includes a pool and state of the art conference facilities, perfect for launches, talks or business events. There is WiFi, a cocktail bar, free transport, laundry and valet services. The hotel has secure parking and I felt safe even if I had to park late at night. I didn’t make use of the restaurant but I had a look and it looked really nice and cozy.
Overall the hotel gave me a relaxing stay during my trip. There was no noise, cars hooting or people shouting, often what you get if you stay in the CBD. The hotel is best suited for business people who want to stay in Midrand. The hotel is pretty close to Centurion and halfway between Johannesburg and Pretoria right off the N1. I would definitely stay at the Premier Hotel Midrand on my next trip.
