SOUTH AFRICA – Johannesburg – 14 January 2016 – Sony Mobile Communications (“Sony Mobile”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Haghofer as the new Sony Mobile South Africa Country Manager. Christian previously held the position of Sony Mobile Country Manager for Central European Markets which saw him successfully build, grow and lead the cluster for Switzerland, Austria and Adriatic markets for Sony Mobile. Christian will succeed Mark Fenzel, who managed the South African market for Sony Mobile for the last 3 years.
Christian, who has been with the Sony brand since 2005 with international experience in sales, IT, FMCG, Media & Marketing as well as sponsorships, looks forward to being part of a team that enjoys continued growth within the sector, “Continuing to build on the successful growth in South Africa is a key focus for us,” says Christian.
Christian, who has the proven ability to function and lead in cross cultural environments, will strive to carry-out his same management style which he has always adopted by encouraging team work and positive attitudes. Sony Mobile South Africa aims to establish strategic and independent business units for Xperia Smartphones and Tablets which will continue to be delivered through targeted business objectives set-out.
