Skworth App Day

Apps are an integral part of our lives and whether we are accessing them on our smart phones, laptops or TVs we have become dependent on them for information and entertainment.  Jaco Joubert, brand manager for SKYWORTH says that if you can imagine it there is probably an app for it. App Day is celebrated on 11th December in a number of countries around the world recognising how apps have become a part of our everyday lives.”

Today, 1.85 million different apps are available for users to download. Android users have even more from which to choose, with 2.56 million available through the Google Play Store. High-end global TV brand and technology pioneer SKYWORTH range of TVs have full access to the Google Play StoreJoubert says, “Some smart TV manufacturers use their own operating systems and users are quite restricted when it comes to updates, and the number of apps available to them is limited.”

SKYWORTH’s Android TVs give users access to a world of content, as opposed to a manufacturer’s choice of content. The Google Play Store offers thousands of apps and is increasing daily. The Android TV’s operating system is upgradeable, including all the apps on the Google Play Store. This means you can keep up with the best in apps, games and entertainment as and when they’re available in the country, without having to purchase a new device. “Think of it as a TV with similar capabilities to your smartphone, just bigger and clearer,” says Joubert.

SKYWORTH recently announced upgrades to two models – the STD6500, which offers viewing in 32, 40 and 43” options (and replaces the TB7000) series.  The second is the SUD9300F, which begins where the STD6500 leaves off by offering a superior TV experience in 50, 55 and 65” formats (and replaces the SUC9300 series).

The brand continuously innovates and expands its product offering. SKYWORTH TVs can now be connected to a range of smart home devices, covering over 60 device categories.
