The winners of each category, selected by this year’s panel of expert judges – including Michele Lozzo, Dan Guasco, Geoff Cohen, Mich Atagana, Matthew Buckland and Lynette Hundermark – will be announced at the awards ceremony at The Westin Cape Town Hotel on Thursday, 14 September 2017.

“It is definitely going to be a night to remember as we find out who comes out on top. Our judges really had their work cut out for them. The response from the voting public was phenomenal – we’ve never seen so many votes for an industry event. The contenders this year have really upped their game and there are bound to be a few surprises.

We also have an unbelievable line-up to take the evening’s entertainment up another level with a live performance by the South African duo, No Method, who officially broke into the European charts throughout Turkey and Greece earlier this year, as well as an added dose of inspiration from our guest speaker, Sihle Tshabalala,” says Tucker.

Tshabalala the Western Cape Lead SA Hero for August, is the National coordinator for Brothers for All, a start-up that equips over 170 students from underprivileged backgrounds, former inmates, high school dropouts, unemployed youth and vulnerable children. These students are all learning essential coding languages like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Tshabalala once led a life of crime but, with one conscious decision, has chosen to turn his life around and lead responsibly.

Tickets to the prestigious gala event are available to the public and can be purchased at https://www.techandecommerceawards.co.za/tickets/. Not only does this ticket allow you access to the much anticipated awards evening, it also includes a delicious three course meal.

“I urge all business leaders in retail and tech to come out and show their support for our nominees that are driving the e-commerce revolution,” Tucker concludes.
