Since I have seen people posting underwater shots of themselves, I have always wanted to get some shots of myself underwater. So when I got sent the Olympus Tough TG-810 to review, I knew where to take it.
Let’s dive into this review (get it?) The Olympus Tough TG-810 is a compact 14MP camera that is waterproof and shock proof. Yes you read that correctly. You can swim with the camera up to 10 metres (33 Feet) without the need of adding a waterproof case. If you do want to swim deeper, you can purchase a case that ads another 40 meters to the depth that you can swim too. I am sure you are bound to drop your camera at some stage. Don’t worry, Olympus have got you covered. The TG-810 is shockproof with a max drop of 6.6 feet. So you can drop the TG-810 and pick it up and carry on capturing the special moments.
For those who like the cold, the TG-810 is freeze proof down to 14°F/-10°C. So the TG-810 is the perfect camera for skiing, snowboarding, sledding and other winter fun.
You never know what situation your camera might land in. If someone happens to stand on your camera or something falls on it, normally you will need to buy a new one. But with the TG-810, there is no need to buy a new camera. The TG-810, with its rugged body is crushproof up to 100KG and also features a reinforced LCD so your camera and your awesome shots are always protected.
You know that feeling when you try to remember where you took a photo and you just can’t remember? Don’t worry about that happening as the TG-810 has GPS so you can record landmark data in your image and then even view the locations of your images on a map.
By just touching the record button, you can record 720p HD movies so there is no need to have a video camera to make those awesome home videos!
The TG-810 loves actions shots. To help make these shots crisp and clear, the TG810 features dual image stabilization which combines Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization with high ISO sensitivity and fast shutter speeds so you can capture crisp, clear images even if the subject is moving.
We all love taking 3D photos. The TG-810 allows you to easily capture 3D images, even underwater. Now that is awesome.
