Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA) will be introducing its highly acclaimed all-new Pajero Sport in September 2017.
This stylishly designed new-generation Mitsubishi sport utility offers refined driving dynamics thanks to an array of cutting-edge technological enhancements, including a state-of-the-art eight-speed automatic transmission.
The addition of various new driver and passenger luxuries and comforts make the all-new Pajero Sport an everyday pleasure to drive – be that tight city corners, maddening highways or any other dirt or off-road surface anywhere in the countryside.
The genuinely exemplary driving behaviour of the new Pajero Sport is primarily due to the flawless combination of its impressive high performance, new-generation aluminium cylinder block turbo-diesel engine and its modern high-tech eight-speed automatic transmission (including transfer gearing with low range for the four-wheel drive derivative). The four-wheel drive derivative also boasts the latest edition of Mitsubishi’s unique Super-Select II-4 4WD-system.
Boasting Mitsubishi’s stylish Dynamic Shield front-end design, the striking Pajero Sport shows off its elegant and contemporary design lines which ooze a demanding presence on the road.
The all-new Pajero Sport is the ultimate sport utility vehicle for the modern-day adventurer. Its excellently refined driving dynamics, sophisticated design and impressive road presence, combined with luxurious car-like comfort and exceptional space, as well as Pajero’s iconic brand admirability will undoubtedly ignite that spirit for adventure that forms part of each and every South African.
A more refined experience
Ruggedness and comfort have always been part of the Pajero Sport’s DNA, which may be one of the reasons behind Mitsubishi South Africa’s 92 percent customer loyalty figure.
The modern-day adventurer, however, demands more than simply class-leading off-road ability and a comfortable driving experience.
Inside, the cabin of the new Pajero Sport has been designed to be ergonomically pleasing with high quality soft-touch materials creating an extremely refined environment similar to that of a luxury passenger car.
Although the upgraded suspension is designed to cope with the harshest of terrains, Mitsubishi’s engineers have ensured that the ultimate ride quality of their new-generation sport utility is equally car-like, luxurious and quiet. By doing so, the new Pajero Sport will inspire confidence across any terrain.
The Pajero Sport is easy to live with on a daily basis, thanks to a substantial level of standard specification, a luxurious and spacious interior, comfortable leather seats, an exceptionally smooth eight-speed automatic transmission which will be standard across the range, as well as a host of safety features and systems that have resulted in Pajero Sport being awarded a five-star safety rating by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).
Style that demands a second glance
Mitsubishi’s global design philosophy of “Form Follows Function” was pivotal in the design of its new-generation sport utility, but it was imperative that the engineers kept an eye on the future to ensure that the new Pajero Sport stands out in a market saturated with large family sport utility vehicles that struggle to hide their traditional hatchback roots.
The new Pajero Sport’s styling is energetic and striking while making an intrepid statement that it is able to comfortably conquer any terrain. Whether running errands in the city, cruising comfortably on the highway, or crawling over harsh terrain, the Pajero Sport is styled to confidently fit in with its surroundings.
“Under this new design concept, labelled ‘Dynamic Cruising Off-Roader’, Mitsubishi engineers have combined the best of both worlds with the all-new Pajero Sport – an accomplished four-wheel drive sport utility one can confidently show off to the world,” says Nic Campbell, General Manager at Mitsubishi Motors South Africa.
Power to match the rugged looks
The highly acclaimed all-new Pajero Sport is a result of many years of proven technological development and will be the most sophisticated sport utility Mitsubishi has ever offered.
The new-generation high-performance turbo-diesel engine delivers class-leading performance and mated to its state-of-the-art eight-speed automatic gearbox, this combination offers customers perfectly smooth car-like performance, a relaxed driving experience, passenger car efficiencies and fuel economy as well as epic off-road abilities if needed.
Mitsubishi’s latest edition of its legendary Super-Select II-4 4WD system will certainly encourage confidence in drivers who like to spend a lot of time driving on gravel.
Current Pajero Sport owners, loyal to their vehicles’ never-die, go-everywhere attitude, will be pleased to know that the all-new Pajero Sport will be just as rugged and capable, while the new model simply builds on its sterling reputation by adding a decent helping of power, style, luxury and safety.
A Pajero Sport for everyone
The new Pajero Sport line-up offered in South Africa will consist of only high-specification 4×2 and 4×4 derivatives, all mated to the all-new refined eight-speed automatic gearbox (including transfer gearing with low range for the four-wheel drive derivative).
“Mitsubishi is confident that the all-new Pajero Sport will fit in nicely with its existing product line-up and customer base, while luring new lifestyle customers with its sophisticated car-like driving dynamics, luxurious comfort and elegant style as well as its admirable off-road reputation,” adds Campbell.
“Pricing and specification details will be released at the Pajero Sport’s launch in September, but for now we can reveal that it will be competitively priced within its segment.”
