In addition, in yet another first for MCQP, the theme and venue for the 2017 event that will be taking place in December (Saturday, 16 December) will be announced at the July spectacular, hosted at the German Club in Gardens, Cape Town. Ian McMahon, Director of MCQP, explains the early announcement: “We always listen to our MCQP fans. Many have expressed that they need more time to prepare their outfits, and especially as more and more out-of-towners are attending the event every year, they also need to properly plan their travel arrangements. And then, we’re going bigger, better and bolder than ever before, with a big part due to famed DJ and event organiser Candice Heyns joining our team for this year’s event.”

Heyns has extensively toured Europe, both as a DJ performer and assisting in arranging some of the biggest events in a variety of European countries, before recently returning to the Mother City – ready to implement her vast experience for MCQP 2017.

Says Heyns, Executive Project Manager of MCQP: “For anyone ‘dreaming of a white Christmas’, they won’t be disappointed. We’ve got snow machines showering the entrance and one of the dance floors with snowflakes, and the venue spectacularly decorated with over a 100 Christmas trees – even some hanging from the ceiling. So if you’ve never seen snow, you have to be there.

“But of course, we didn’t forget our very own heritage in how we celebrate Christmas in SA, so the second dance floor will be a summer Christmas experience with all things green. Believe me, you’ll be blown away, and this event will only be a hint of what is coming in December for our main MCQP party.”

She states that although the announcement of the theme and venue for MCQP 2017 will be one of the many highlights and main attractions of the evening, Christmas party fever will rule the night. Heyns adds: “One of the dance floors will be dedicated to commercial, high energy and progressive music. The other to deep house, disco and techno. So we’re catering for all tastes. We are using non other than Funkion one for our main Hall and the Red Bull Sound system for our white winter wonderland.”

McMahon adds: “Whenever we host an event, we also want to give back to the community. So although Father Christmas will be walking around handing out random gifts to those attending, we also encourage attendees to bring a gift for a child that will be donated to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital.”

The MCQP Christmas in July party will be filled with entertainment, including comedians, live acts, dancers, and top name local and international DJ’s.  “We don’t want to give too much away, but international DJ Groove from Thailand will be there, as well as DJs Douglas Olsen vs. Miss CJ, Tommy Gun, DYI and Beanovs Dave Irish. Also, the Trolley Dollies will be there in all of their dazzling glory,” states McMahon.

Tickets are available at R150 per person through nutickets – and everyone 18 years and older are invited to attend (http://mcqp.nutickets.co.za/Xmas). Doors open at 8pm and the event will take place until 2am.

In conclusion, Heyns states: “If you are planning to consume alcohol at the event, we encourage you to make use of transport options such as TAXIFY or carpooling with a designated driver. Oh, and arrive early! You don’t want to miss anything planned throughout the night. It’s going to be non-stop entertainment for beginning to end.”
