  • 221kW Ingenium petrol engine delivers thrilling performance with unique soundtrack
  • Four-cylinder F-TYPE available in Coupé and Convertible models

Pretoria, 30 May 2017 – Jaguar’s award-winning F-TYPE sports car can now be had with a state-of-the-art Ingenium 2.0-litre engine producing 221kW and 400Nm – the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever fitted to a production Jaguar. This all-new Ingenium engine, designed and built by Jaguar, can propel the F-TYPE from a standstill to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds, and on to a top speed of 250km/h. The Jaguar F-TYPE 2.0-litre Coupé starts at R953 400, and the F-TYPE 2.0-litre Convertible starts at R971 000.

The powerful new Ingenium 2.0-litre powerplant broadens the appeal of the F-TYPE, while retaining the sport car’s DNA and enhancing its agility through weight savings of up to 52kg over the front axle. Jaguar-specific technologies and optimisation ensure the 2.0-litre petrol engine is efficient in both fuel consumption as well as power delivery: a twin-scroll turbocharger ensures near-instantaneous boost pressure, virtually eliminating turbo lag and enhancing performance.

This performance doesn’t come at the expense of a thrilling soundtrack – a trademark of the F-TYPE. A meticulously tuned active exhaust is standard on the entry-level F-TYPE, while R-Dynamic variants feature a switchable active exhaust for a more involved driving experience.

R-Dynamic models also boast additional specification, including 19” wheels, full LED headlights, a sportier appearance with unique bumpers and side sills, as well as gloss black interior trim finishers.

All F-TYPE 2.0-litre models – both Coupé and Convertible – feature new slimline sports seats, six-way electric seats, InControl Touch Pro, Navigation Pro, Meridian audio and an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

The new 2.0-litre Ingenium-powered Jaguar F-TYPE models go on sale in South Africa from the third quarter of 2017. Customers can build their own on www.jaguar.co.za, using the Jaguar configurator.
