Local large-format and cutting systems specialist AM.CO.ZA has assembled a range of heat presses for every application including heat transfer vinyl – printed or solid colour, powdered film with DTF prints to the surface of an item such as a T-shirt, or to provide consistent heat during sublimation – a process to transfer prints by changing the ink from solid to gas and back to solid such as is used on coffee mugs. Heat presses are used for a wide range of applications and processes with the aim of ensuring that images printed or transferred stay on the substrate.

AM.CO.ZA caters for every user with single component heat presses for those who focus their activities on the production of a single item. The T-Shirt range comprises a flat press with a 38cm x 38cm size in the clamshell opening style; a flat press of the same size but with a swing-away opening; and a flat press also with the swing-away opening but for larger sizes up to 40cm x 60cm – known as the full size press. Also in the single-application range are the Mug presses. There is a model capable of pressing a single mug and another capable of pressing up to five mugs simultaneously. There is also a press capable of handling up to six pens at a time. Other single-use presses include a small portable unit which is ideal for customers doing sublimation printing or for the hobbyist who wants to print and press at a market stall for example. This press is very handy and only requires standard power supply. The final model in the single-application range is the large press with a roll-to-roll feed which is used by high-production businesses.
I recently tried out the AM.CO.ZA Portable Heat Press, and it was loads of fun!
This range comprises many models and the available components increase according to the specific model. The basic press features a T-Shirt size of 29cm x 38cm. The MT5 model features five components including the Flat Press, Big Mug Press, Small and Big Plates Press and a Cap Press. The MT6 comprises all of these features with the addition of A Small Mug Press. The MT8 model includes a big and small Cup press. The difference between a mug press and a cup press is that the mug is cylindrical in shape while the cup is conical where one side is bigger than the other. The MT9 features all of these units but includes the Shoe Press. However, that is not the end of the range. For customers who require the ability to handle full T-Shirt pressing, there is the Extended Range comprising the MTE5, MTE6, MTYE8 and MTE 9 all of which can handle the full T-Shirt size of 38cm x 38cm with the add-on components.
