Interior

Taking pride of place inside of the 2016 Captiva is Chevrolet’s award winning MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen. The second generation of MyLink builds on the innovations of the previous system with class leading connectivity which introduces phone projection technology, a first in this segment. The system allows users with compatible smart phones the ability to project some of their phone’s apps and functions onto the screen of the car’s infotainment system.

Further changes to the interior include a new leather steering wheel and an all new dashboard and instrument cluster.

Proven and Efficient Powertrains

Buyers of the 2016 Chevrolet Captiva have a choice of either the 2.4 litre petrol engine or a 2.2 litre turbo diesel engine. The 2.4 litre naturally aspirated engine produces 123 kW @ 5600 rpm, and has torque output of 230 Nm at 4600 rpm. Combined cycle fuel consumption is measured at 8.8 l/100 km producing 210 grams of CO2 per kilometre. Performance figures for the 2.4 LT FWD fitted with the manual transmission are 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds, and a top speed of 190 km/h. When fitted with the 6 speed automatic transmission the 2.4 LT FWD LT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 11 seconds and reaches a top speed of 181 km/h.

The 2.2 litre diesel engine produces 135 kW at 3800 rpm with a torque figure of 400 Nm at just 2000 rpm. The 2.2 D LT FWD model is only available with a six speed automatic transmission and achieves an impressive combined fuel consumption figure measured at 7.8 l/100 km. Performance figures are equally impressive with 0 to 100 km/h reached in 9.8 seconds and a top speed of 192 km/h. CO2 emissions for the diesel model are 208 grams per kilometre.

The fuel efficient engines combined with a 65 litre fuel tank make the Captiva an ideal cross country vehicle.

Captiva is well known for its smooth ride courtesy of its continuously variable real time damping. It also has a MacPherson strut front suspension and an independent four link at the rear.
