The urban living experts, Blok, have proudly announced a new partnership with Hamiltons. As South Africa’s oldest rugby club, ‘Hammies’ is a true institution; together, they’re aiming to bolster local sport and deepen community roots across the Atlantic Seaboard. As part of the partnership, Blok’s support focuses on the junior girls and boys, high school girls and boys, and the open women’s teams.
Founded in 1876 and based in Green Point, Hamilton Rugby Club has long played a central role in the local sporting community, bringing together players, families and supporters around a shared love of the game. The club runs programmes across age groups, from grassroots development to senior teams, helping nurture local talent and build a sense of belonging both on and off the field.
For Blok, the partnership reflects their commitment to supporting local initiatives that contribute to the character and vibrancy of the neighbourhoods in which it builds.
“Building homes goes beyond architecture and design,” says Blok’s Head of Marketing, Troy Squires. “It’s also about contributing to the communities that make these neighbourhoods special. Hamilton Rugby Club has been part of the Green Point community for nearly 150 years, and we’re proud to support a club that continues to bring people together through the love of sport.”
“At Hamiltons, we develop young players through discipline, teamwork, and pride in the jersey, and Blok builds modern spaces designed for true urban living, where communities are important for a neighbourhood to grow and thrive. That’s why this partnership is such a natural fit,” says Grant Scott, Junior Rugby Sports Coordinator at Hamilton Rugby Club.
“By sponsoring our rugby team across the Hamiltons Junior and Women Rugby Club, Blok is investing directly in the next generation of players, leaders and teammates,” says Grant.
Blok’s developments are located throughout the Atlantic Seaboard and City Bowl, placing the company near the communities and organisations that shape the character of these neighbourhoods.
“As developers, we’re fortunate to work in some of Cape Town’s most vibrant and sought-after neighbourhoods,” adds Troy. “Supporting organisations like Hamiltons is one small way we can give back to the dedicated people that make these places what they are. Thriving neighbourhoods aren’t just built, they prosper through active engagement and contributions.”
