Acer Showcases Full Range of Products Supporting Windows Solutions

at WinHEC 2015

South Africa, Johannesburg (March 18, 2015): Acer is showcasing a full range of products supporting Windows solutions at the Microsoft Windows Hardware Engineering Community 2015 (WinHEC) forum, held on March 18 and 19 in Shenzhen, China. In-line with the forum’s goal of facilitating the exchange of ideas, sharing of best practices and discussing future opportunities, Acer displayed its products implementing various Windows solutions such as Acer Precision Touchpad (PTP) and Skype certification, to enhance the Windows user experience.

Precision Touchpad (PTP)

Visitors of WinHEC will be able to experience the Precision Touchpad on both consumer and commercial Acer notebooks. The implementation of Microsoft’s solution unifies the Windows user experience across the touchpad and touchscreen, providing touchpad gestures and behaviors consistent with those of a touchscreen. Precision Touchpad is supported widely across Acer’s notebook product line, not only providing a smooth and responsive experience, but also better accuracy through higher resolution hardware and built-in palm rejection. All of this quality and functionality is provided right out of the box, with no additional drivers needed and settings easily adjustable through the Windows Control Panel.

Skype and Lync Certification

For those looking for a friction-free audio and visual communication experience, Acer is showcasing a range of Skype certified consumer notebooks, which are designed to let users speak freely, listen effortlessly, and see more clearly. Skype-certified devices have gone through a rigid certification process to make sure that the speech is seamless with no lag or gaps, the sound is reproduced true-to-life and distortion-free, and the video realistic and accurate. This is achieved by fine-tuning the hardware and software for each individual product. For the commercial users, Acer is showing notebooks which are Lync certified for enhanced audio and visual communication.

In addition to the aforementioned demonstrations, Acer will also be displaying Windows-based products ranging from 2-in-1 and convertible notebooks, desktops, tablets, smartphones, to wearables. Among the list, Acer’s first Windows 8.1 smartphone, the Liquid M220, and Acer’s first wearable that supports Windows Phone, the Liquid Leap+, will be making their first appearance in Asia after their debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 earlier this month.

The Windows Hardware Engineering Community (WinHEC) is an event that caters to technical experts who builds or desires to build Windows-based technology from around the world. The forum is designed to help educate, facilitate the exchange of ideas and to share best practices and discuss future opportunities.
