Logitech G, a brand of Logitech and leading innovator of gaming technologies and gear, has announced the launch of its Content Creator Academy, a first-of-its-kind competition aimed at nurturing the talent of young up-and-coming gaming content creators. The Content Creator Academy will kick off in October 2020 and will put aspiring content creators up against each other for the chance to be selected as the brand’s new content creators.
“We realise that young members of our gaming community are already creating exciting content. They require some guidance, tools and knowledge to develop their content creation skills,” said Alexander “Lizzard” Olls Logitech G Marketing Manager. “Logitech G’s Content Creator Academy not only combines gamers’ love for gaming and content creation, but it’s also an opportunity for us to engage with our loyal community of gamers and learn from each other along the way.”
Logitech G’s Content Creator Academy will give gamers a glimpse into the exciting world of content creation, encouraging them to take on a new challenge while tapping into their competitive nature.
Eight finalists will be announced on 30 October to receive training by Sam “Tech Girl” Wright and Dangerous Dave from Super2Bit. The training will be a combination of technical, writing and social skills allowing the finalists to develop great content, build a fan base and grow their own brand’s social media following.
On 15 December, two chosen winners will work with Logitech G on a six-month contract. During this period, they will work as content creators with Logitech G.
“Our Content Creator Academy is designed to challenge the perception of what a typical gamer looks like by opening up the gaming community to young South African women and men, from all walks of life. We want to provide these talented individuals with the tools they require to hone their abilities and pursue their love for gaming and content creation,” concludes Olls.
Entries for Logitech’s Content Creator Academy will open on 9 October and close on 23 October 2020. The Academy commences 1 November 2020.
