In anticipation of the release of FORD V FERRARI in cinemas on 22 November 2019, Shelby South Africa hosted a variety of media and industry leaders at a FORD V FERRARI Junket track day at Zwartkops Raceway on Wednesday, 6 November 2019.
Those attending were treated to an adrenalin-packed morning of passenger rides in one of the four Shelby cars – the Cobra, Daytona, GT40 or Supersnake; GoKart racing; a full motion simulator competition, a Le Mans replica Scalectrix track with cars from the FORD V FERRARI film and the opportunity to interview Peter Lindenberg of Shelby South Africa as well as Jimmy Price of Hi-Tech Automotive. These were accompanied by a video interview with Aaron Shelby which was completed for South Africa by Shelby SA. Journalist’s attending the day had the opportunity to send their personal questions in and Aaron addressed them all.

This movie is all of that and more and gave us the opportunity to give local media a small taste of the world in which the film takes place.”

Next, Shelby South Africa will host the FORD V FERRARI premiere events in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town launching the Shelby Legendary cars brand in South Africa and giving South Africans the opportunity to buy these mechanical works of art with Legendary status in the car collector world. Unbeknown to most, is the fact that this entire range of cars, which are produced under license to Shelby American and get entered into the Shelby registry, are manufactured in Port Elizabeth by Jimmy Price’s Hi-Tech Automotive operation.
