According to a recent technical assessment by Strategy Analytics, Sony Mobile’s newest flagship smartphones, Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact have the world’s longest battery life compared with the five leading smartphones. Under conditions experienced by a typical smartphone user, Sony’s Xperia XZ2 lasted for 36 hours and Xperia XZ2 Compact lasted for 34 hours. The assessment measured the time taken for each device to fail through battery exhaustion. Testing was conducted twice under each scenario and the average time taken to discharge the battery is reported in these results. This performance represents a leading position for Sony’s Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones against leading premium smartphones.
