JP21 Super Eights, charity cricket day – 17 December 2017 at Val de Vie Estate

Magnificent Val De Vie trades ponies on the pitch for pitch perfect Super Eights.

In a first for the renowned Val De Vie estate in Franschoek, this December will see them opening up their immaculate grounds to the JP21 Super Eights Charity Cricket day.

The JP21 Project, the brainchild of South African cricket legend JP Duminy and a passion project for him and his wife Sue, aims to create a new, positive culture; a culture that embodies core values of respect, kindness and transparency through sports education and team playing. Critically the project serves to cultivate leadership development and life skills.

Established in 2014, the JP21 project has a special interest in reigniting enthusiasm for sport and providing the platform to do so for underprivileged children. Their key focus is in the Western Cape outlying areas of Strandfontein and Mitchells Plain. Expansion plans are in the works and the project is set to roll out nationally.
The Charity Cricket Day which will be held at Val de Vie on the 17th December 2017 is fully endorsed and supported by fellow South African Athlete and Val De Vie Marketing Director Ryk Neethling who will be in attendance.

The day will comprise of a fun-filled and unique Eight Over game with a cast of celebrity cricketers including fellow philanthropists, JP Duminy, Faff Du Plessis, Morne Morkel and AB De Villiers among others. It gives an opportunity for all lovers of cricket to take part in a family day of entertainment and high quality cricket with a tiered ticket system which will make it affordable and accessible for all enthusiasts. The choices run from an All Inclusive option to a fun picnic and food truck activation with music and a live auction which contribute to the excitement of the event. Add to that a good smattering of celeb spotting, live entertainment and what is certain to be a perfect Cape Town day and it adds up to an All Rounder!

Heavyweight sponsors Sage and Gallo Images have confirmed their investments in teams and add the weight to a fun event for a solid cause. The Spur will be providing a wonderful entertainment area for the children who are encouraged to join their parents on this special day. Further to this they are sponsoring meals for over 200 underprivileged children.
