Released on 23 February 2016, the latest Consumer Reports results placed Subaru second overall out of thirty brands that form part of the Consumer Reports evaluation. Only two points behind the first placed car manufacturer, Subaru’s results for 2016 are up from an already impressive fifth place in 2015, further testament to Subaru’s commitment to producing high quality vehicles.

Consumer Reports is an independent US-based research organization that uses extensive analysis and data of car brands to determine which of them continuously delivers vehicles that serve consumers best. Scores aggregate road-test performance, vehicle reliability, passive and active safety, performance and owner satisfaction.

These Consumer Reports results also show that Subaru is one of only two car brands in which the entire range of products has a 100% product recommendation score. And the Forester named as the organization’s 2016 Top small SUV of the year.

Ashley Lazarus, Marketing Manager at Subaru Southern Africa is delighted with the results. “We’re constantly working towards improving our cars in the areas of safety, product quality and driving dynamics. These are top priorities for us and so to be placed so highly in the Consumer Reports results means that consumers are appreciating and benefiting from it.”

This is yet another feather in Subaru’s cap in addition to all of its cars being awarded the highest safety ratings from the Australian ANCAP; European NCAP; Japanese JNCAP and the American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety programmes. Subaru also remains the only vehicle manufacturer with an entire product range that carries the coveted Top Safety Pick from the IIHS.
