Jaguar Land Rover Director Joins Female Business Leaders At This Year’s SheEO Sleepout

Lisa Mallett, Marketing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa, will be participating in this year’s SheEO SleepOut™.  The sleepout is a Special Chapter of The CEO SleepOut™.  Female business leaders were dared to Rise to the Call to spend a night sleeping outdoors at The Union Buildings, the destination of the largest female march in South Africa’s history; the 1956 Women’s March, protesting the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act.

“On the night of Tuesday 8 August, I will join other female business leaders and spend a night outdoors in an effort to raise awareness and much needed funds for the homeless,” says Lisa.

“It’s fantastic that South African businesswomen have an opportunity to make their voices heard and show their compassion for a very worthy cause. The psycho-socioeconomic consequences of homelessness and the impact it has on peoples’ lives is enormous. Stepping out of our comfort zones for one night to raise the much-needed awareness for the homeless, particularly for women and babies, is the least we can do,” says Mallett.

“At Jaguar Land Rover we have global initiatives to help create opportunities and improve lives for millions of people. Causes such as these are close to my heart because I believe in going above and beyond in all I do. As a businesswoman and as a mother, I am honoured that I can be part of an event like this,” she adds.

Lisa threw down the gauntlet and challenged Mindshare Managing Director Kershnee Pillay to join her at the sleepout.  She also invited Jaguar Land Rover customers to Rise to the Challenge.

“I’m excited to be part of this initiative. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make our voices heard and show compassion for this very worthy cause,” she concludes.

Mallett was recently recognised by CEO Global magazine as one of Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government. She was awarded top honours in the Automotive and Components category – a milestone that marked her achievements in the automotive industry. With extensive experience in the premium automotive segment, going back to 2006, Mallett’s insight and expertise saw her appointed the Marketing Director at Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa in March 2015.
