Pretoria, 9 January 2017 – South African customers can now visit www.landrover.co.za and use the Land Rover configurator to build their ultimate All-New Discovery – and order one – ahead of its local launch in July 2017. Along with this, the online brochure is available on the website for buyers to see the Land Rover-approved options and accessories, exterior colours and interior trims they will be able to obtain for the newest member of the Discovery family.

Pricing for the All-New Discovery starts at R980 000 when equipped with Land Rover’s 190kW and 600Nm 3.0-litre Td6 diesel or R1 018 500 with a 250kW and 450Nm 3.0-litre supercharged V6 Si6 petrol engine. Both engine options are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Customers can choose from four specification levels: S, SE, HSE, HSE Luxury. Additionally, only 35 First Edition models, which feature additional standard equipment, will be available in South Africa.

Air suspension, LED headlights, satellite navigation are just some of the standard features on vehicles specified in SE trim and above. Other technology available on the All-New Discovery include Land Rover’s InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10.2-inch touch screen (standard on HSE and up), Meridian audio systems and a powered inner tailgate.

Land Rover’s world first Intelligent Seat Fold technology can also be specified. The system allows drivers to remotely configure all seats in the Discovery, using their smartphones, the InControl touch screen or switches within the luggage area. The All-New Discovery is also the first Land Rover model to offer Activity Key, a robust and waterproof wristband that can lock and unlock the vehicle, allowing drivers to participate in outdoor activities without fear of losing or damaging their key fob.

The All-New Discovery has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500kgs with a detachable tow bar, Tow Assist and Trailer Stability Assist as standard on all specifications.  Land Rover’s innovative and most advanced reversing aid to-date, Advanced Tow Assist, is optional on SE up.  Advanced Tow Assist enables the driver to guide a trailer into position by simply following its trajectory on the main Touchscreen, and controlling its path using the rotary knob from the Terrain Response 2 system on the centre console.

Build Your Own All-New Land Rover Discovery

The flagship First Edition model will be available in limited numbers to mark the launch of the All-New Discovery. This model features a high level of standard specification, including Intelligent Seat Fold, Activity Key, Terrain Response 2, InControl Touch Pro with navigation, surround cameras, an electric panoramic sunroof, and an 825 watt Meridian audio system. The First Edition also features 22-inch wheels, Windsor leather and can be had in three exclusive exterior colours: Namib Orange, Farallon Black or Silicon Silver.

All models will also be fitted with Land Rover’s InControl Protect, which offers a roadside assist call button as well as an emergency assist button. In the event of an accident the system can also automatically notify emergency services.

Along with featuring Land Rover’s latest technologies, the All-New Discovery remains as practical as ever. It offers incredible capability in a refined, premium package, and is capable of scaling mountains, crossing water up to 900mm deep and accommodating up to seven adults – or offering up to 2,500 litres of cargo space with the seats folded flat.
