New Peugeot 2008 Suv Arrives In South Africa

The multi-award winning Peugeot 3008 SUV was named Drive 360’s Family Car of the Year at a ceremony held in Rosebank on Friday 01 December.

The judging panel acclaimed the 3008 SUV’s striking new exterior, class-leading cabin, superior materials and outstanding design – allowing it to eclipse worthy competitors such as the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Elantra, Toyota C-HR and VW Golf GTD.

Each year, after test driving all the new vehicles launched in South Africa during the year,  Independent Media’s team of motoring journalists honour their best vehicles of 2017, handing out trophies to the best Compact Car, Adventure Vehicle, Luxury Car, Family Car, and Performance Car categories and also an overall winner.

“We are proud of the acknowledgement given to the Peugeot 3008 SUV said Francisco Gaie, MD of Peugeot Citroen South Africa.  The 3008 SUV truly sets itself apart with its combination of eye-catching design, comfort and user-friendliness.” he added

“Peugeot have put a lot of thought into the new design of the 3008 SUV.  It fits perfectly with the modern lifestyle and is making its presence felt in the intensely competitive SUV segment.”

The Peugeot 3008 SUV does speak to the heart with its good looks and elegant styling but there is plenty of practicality to complement its alluring looks and creature comforts.

In keeping with the family-friendly nature of the compact SUV segment, the Peugeot 3008 seriously pushes the parameters when it comes to safety technology.

Active Safety Brake and Distance Alert’ delivers autonomous braking to prevent frontal collisions and a lane departure warning system will alert you if you stray from your chosen lane without indicating and, there is also an innovative Driver Alert Warning system that notices driver fatigue and provides a warning when you need a rest.

And safety technology isn’t the 3008’s only hallmark.

In-cabin fragrance diffusers create a fresh environment, and the seats are fitted with a massage function to turn the most gruelling morning commute into an impromptu relaxation session.

The attractive i-Cockpit design demonstrates a modern dashboard that houses an innovative new infotainment system, a visible 12.3” display with touchscreen and a high resolution instrument panel.

The compact steering wheel provides an improved enjoyable driving experience and of course its economical engine doesn’t place strain on the family’s finances – the new Peugeot 3008 SUV feels like a worthy winner of Drive 360’s Family Car of the Year.
